4th Annual CSF Disorders Symposium: From Canvas to Clinic - Art & the Management of Cerebrospinal Fluid Disorders

BROWN UNIVERSITY - PROVIDENCE, RI - JUNE 15, 2019
Local Rhode Island artist, Victoria Guerina, MFA, provides her unique perspective and journey in art. Ms. Guerina was fortunate to be able to marry her interests in science, veterinary medicine and the visual arts.

In this presentation, she describes her artistic process to visually illustrate the pain and suffering associated with cerebrospinal fluid disorders, particularly hydrocephalus. The work that came from this process was featured at the art exhibition held just ahead of the 2017 CSF Disorders Symposium. Since that day, she was asked to speak at this symposium to share her thoughts on art, medicine and neurological disorders.

This presentation was made at the 4th annual CSF Disorders Symposium held at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine of Brown University. The title of the meeting was "From Canvas to Clinic" and identified the important connections between art and medicine. (2019)
