Dr. Aruna Rao, neurologist from Johns Hopkins University, gives a great overview of headaches. What exactly causes a headache? How do doctors differentiate one type of headache from another? What about migraines? How do conditions like Chiari malformation, dysautonomia, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) and other disorders effect a treatment plan between a doctor and patient? Dr. Rao gives a great overview of what neurologists look for when diagnosing and treating headache disorders and provides some tips for patients, including several headache "red flags" that might trigger people to consider an emergency room visit.
