Darcy-Brinkman Model of Shear-Augmented Dispersion in Cerebrovascular Basement Membranes & Spinal SAS
4th International CSF Hydrodynamics Symposium
GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY - ATLANTA, GA - JUNE 19-20, 2017
Dr. Keith Sharp (University of Louisville, Kentucky, USA) discusses his work studying fluid dynamics in the cerebrovascular basement membranes and the spinal subarachnoid spaces. Interestingly, this presented work was largely inspired by discussions with other experts and presentations at past Hydrodynamics Symposia in France, New York and Switzerland. This presentation was given at the 4th International CSF Hydrodynamics Symposium, which was held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. (2017)
This presentation was given at the 4th International CSF Hydrodynamics Symposium, which was held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. This biennial conference brings together scientists, engineers, clinicians and mathematicians from around the world to discuss the underlying mechanisms that cause disorders of CSF flow, like
syringomyelia and
Chiari malformation.
Participants discuss their own research and bounce ideas off one another to better comprehend these poorly understood mechanisms. Thanks to
Dr. John Oshinski and
Dr. M. Keith Sharp for organizing this year's scientific program.
CSF is proud to once again support this incredible meeting of the minds. This support is made possible by a generous grant from the Monkton Institute, Inc.
