Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) and Pseudotumor Cerebri Treatments

Dr. Imram Chaudry (MUSC) talks about the different methods that doctors currently have to treat idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH). This condition is also occasionally referred to as pseudotumor cerebri.

Dr. Chaudry discusses how those treatments have advanced and how far they still may have to go. IIH can cause vision loss and in extreme cases blindness when untreated. While it's more commonly found in women with BMIs of 25+, this condition also affects patients with average or low BMIs. For patients losing their ability to see, advancing treatments is critical to quality of life.
