Dr. Anne Maitland
Dr. Anne Maitland is the Medical Director for the Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Institute (EDSI), at the Medical University of South Carolina, and is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the division of Rheumatology. She is board certified in Allergy/Immunology after completing her training at Brigham and Women’s hospital in Internal Medicine and then Allergy/Immunology fellowship at Mount Sinai hospital in New York. Her clinical and research efforts focus on neuroimmune dysfunction in patients with connective tissue disorders, such as Ehlers Danlos Syndromes and Hypermobile Spectrum Disorders, to reduce diagnostic delay and develop tailored, innovative therapies.. She has authored several chapters and papers on the role of mast activation and connective tissue homeostasis.
