David Harter, MD is a board-certified neurosurgeon with a focus on pediatric neurosurgery. He is Associate Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, Director of the Neurosurgery Residency Program, and Director of Pediatric Cerebral Endoscopy at Tisch Hospital.
Dr. Harter received his MD from Georgetown University and went on to complete his Residency at the University of Maryland Hospital for Neurosurgery and Fellowship at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Pediatric Neurosurgery.
Dr. Harter’s areas of surgical focus include Chiari, arteriovenous malformation, hydrocephalus, tethered cord syndrome, pseudotumor cerebri, pineal and pituitary tumors, moyamoya disease, and spina bifida. Regarding research, Dr. Harter’s areas of concentration include neuro-endoscopy for the treatment of hydrocephalus, cysts and tumors and brainstem glioma, spasticity and pediatric spinal disorders.
