Dr. Catherine Loughin reviews her experiences at Long Island Veterinary Specialists treating hundreds of surgical cases of Chiari malformation in dogs, specifically the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, which is especially prone to developing Chiari-like malformation and syringomyelia. This is one of the largest studies to ever have been written up in veterinary literature studying the long-term effects of Chiari surgery in small dogs and provides an important contribution to the literature.
