Chiari Malformation Diagnosis, Concerns & Surgical Considerations

Video Poster
SANFORD HEALTH CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL - SIOUX FALLS, SD - SEPTEMBER 26, 2019
Chiari I malformation (sometimes called Arnold Chiari malformation) is a particularly complicated condition to treat. Determining what patients will do well after surgery versus who will do better with careful waiting and watching is still an unknown.

Dr. Eric Trumble describes what Chiari malformation is, how it gets appropriately diagnosed and what treatments are used to help patients feel better. He also describes, in detail, what can go wrong following a surgery, and if and when surgery may not be the right answer.

This presentation was given at the September 2019 meeting at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. (2019)
