Dr. Vibhor Krishna, neurosurgeon at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, and his colleagues recently used diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to better understand the changes that occur in the microstructure of the brainstem before and after Chiari decompression surgery. The researchers found that this microstructure is significantly different before and after Chiari surgery (posterior fossa decompression).

Dr. Krishna also highlights some of the areas that he and his colleagues will explore in the future, given these interesting results. (2018)
