Christina Gurnett, PhD, Chief of the Division of Neurology, joined CHOP in September 2025. Dr. Gurnett previously served as the A. Ernest and Jane G. Stein Professor of Developmental Neurology and Director of the Division of Pediatric and Developmental Neurology at Washington University in St. Louis. She also served as the Neurologist-in-Chief at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

Along with being named the new chief, Dr. Gurnett also will serve as the Co-Executive Director of the Neurosciences Center at CHOP. Dr. Gurnett works to understand the genetic basis of neurodevelopmental and musculoskeletal disorders. She also focuses on building tools and partnerships to advance rare disease research.
