Kristen Yeom, MD, is an experienced pediatric neuroradiologist at Phoenix Children’s. As a radiologist with specialized training, Dr. Yeom diagnoses children with conditions affecting the spine, head, neck and nervous system. She was inspired to pursue a career in neuroradiology after working with pediatric neurosurgeons and neuroradiologists who led by example on how to care for and support children, their families and the clinical staff.
Dr. Yeom is proud to work at Phoenix Children’s because of the health system’s exemplary leadership team that is focused on providing high-quality, personalized healthcare for children. She is inspired by the strong sense of community that joins together the staff, the patients and their families.
After earning her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Dr. Yeom completed her residency training in diagnostic radiology at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. She then finished her fellowship training in diagnostic neuroradiology at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, California.
Dr. Yeom is board certified by the American Board of Radiology in general diagnostic radiology and in neuroradiology. She is a member of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), the American Society of Functional Neuroradiology, the American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR), the American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology (ASPNR), and the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM).
Committed to technical innovations and imaging research that can translate and instill hope for a better future, Dr. Yeom has published more than 125 peer-reviewed studies in scientific journals, including Radiology, American Journal of Neuroradiology, Neurosurgery, Neuro-Oncology, NeuroImage, and others. She also has presented research at conferences and events, including the RSNA, ISMRM, ASNR, ASPNR, and many others.
Dr. Yeom believes every patient is unique, and she works closely with fellow doctors, nurses, hospital staff and families to find the best solution for each patient. When not caring for her patients, Dr. Yeom enjoys the outdoors.
