Robert Jones Black is a sports marketing professional who has merged into a golf-centric business focused on enhancing the likeability, access, and competition output of the game of golf. He started the Generation Next Project charity in 2021 whose mission is to make a positive and direct impact on youth mental health within the golf community, providing players, families, and coaches with mental fitness tools and communication skills to thrive in today’s world, through the game of golf.
Mr. Black is the great-grandson of legendary golfer, Bobby Jones. Through Robert’s life and career, his family taught him the importance of protecting the family’s legacy and respecting the impact made by his great-grandfather. This upbringing and career experience provided an understanding that the success of maintaining a legacy is affected as much by present-day activity and action as by the story behind the family name. Following the impact and changes from the pandemic, Robert refocused his efforts and business growth on his own purpose and brand while embracing the character and integrity portrayed by his great-grandfather.
The Generation Next Project officially launched its “Change Your Course” program in 2023. The program works with parents and young people on proper mental and emotional development. It further demonstrates how dealing with particular “on-course” mental and emotional challenges can have the same exercises and disciplines as situations that create the same mental and emotional reactions in life.
